The autopsy conducted on the remains of late rapper, Ilerioluwa Aloba otherwise known as Mohbad would be ready in the next three or four weeks.

This was made known by Director of Lagos State DNA and Forensic Centre, Dr Richard Somiari while testifying during a coroner’s inquest into the death of the singer on Wednesday, March 20.

Recall that 27-year-old Mohbad died in September 2023, and it generated controversies across the country and beyond, prompting Lagos State Government to direct a coroner’s inquest into the death.

The inquest, which began on October 13, 2023, is being handled by Magistrate Adedayo Shotobi and taking place at the Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court.

Somiari told the Coroner; “We expected to get the first set of autopsy results in three to four weeks and re-confirm to authenticate the cause of the death.

“We searched for multiple possibilities, to check if poison was involved in the death of Mohbad since no actual cause was mentioned.”

The forensic expert assured the public of adequate security and monitoring of samples for the autopsy.

“We have a place where items are stored for safety and security of results. There is a procedure for monitoring samples moved abroad,” he said.

CorrectNG recalls that weeks ago, the Coroner Court in Lagos state revealed that the most crucial aspect of an autopsy to determine the cause of death of Mohbad was being conducted in the United States of America.

The state counsel, O. Akinde also told the Coroner Magistrate, Adetayo Shotobi that the autopsy into the external body of the deceased had been completed.

According to the state counsel; “The toxicology test, which has to do with the internal body, is being done in the US.”

The post reads; “Mohbad: Autopsy Update. The Nigeria Police Force wishes to inform the public that the autopsy procedure for Mr. Mohbad has been successfully completed. Further information will be provided as soon as the results are available.”
