I’ll campaign for Tinubu again – Actor Olaiya Igwe says days after apologising to Nigerians

Ebun Oloyede aka Olaiya Igwe has said that he has no regrets supporting President Bola Tinubu who contested under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the last general elections.

The veteran actor said if there is another election and Tinubu is contesting, he will still throw his weight behind him and join the campaign.

This is coming days after it was reported that Igwe tendered a public apology for campaigning for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the run-up to the 2023 elections.

Recall that a video went viral on social media last year, showing the actor at a beach as he went unclad to declare that Tinubu will be president of Nigeria.

Speaking on the reason for his action, Olaiya explained that it was because Tinubu was there for him when he was ill. He also claimed that God instructed him to go unclad and pray at the beach for Tinubu to emerge victorius at the polls.

However, in his latest interview with Kola Olootu, the actor reiterated his support for Tinubu, stating that his apologies did not mean he regretted campaigning for the president.

Olaiya Igwe said; “Some people are saying I regret campaigning for Tinubu. I do not regret campaigning for Tinubu; I will do it again if I have the opportunity.”
