Blaqbonez apologises to Adekunle Gold for what happened at OAU 8 years ago

Nigerian rap star, Emeka Akumefule aka Blaqbonez has tendered an apology to music star, Adekunle Gold on behalf of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Osun state.

Adekunle Gold ranted on Friday night over an incident which took place at the university in 2015 when he was humiliated in his hotel room after performing at a concert.

He had been reportedly paid N300k to perform at the school but only mounted the stage for about three minutes and sang only his debut single ‘Sade’ before leaving, an action which outraged students and the organisers.

They stormed his hotel and collected half of the N300,000 after allegedly man-handling him. The memory of his ordeal on that day still hunts Adekunle till date.

He wrote on Twitter: “I had Just one song out then (SADE), those fuckers knew it! they booked me! I prostrated for the students (No wham). I hyped the crowd up, performed Acapella, Sang the full song (SADE), Entered the crowd, Performed again. came back to the stage did the same thing again!

They were going to harm me! Do you know how insane that is? Your foolish Rep come dey lie for here? Ori yin ti Daru! They followed me to my hotel to get half of their 300k that they paid me back. I had one song! ONE! If you like go OAU go perform, anything wey your eyes see is on you.

Blaqbonez, who is an alumni of OAU begged for forgiveness from his colleague and sked if he could bring out Adekunle during his soon-to-hold homecoming concert at the institution.

“Bro forgive us, make i bring you come homecoming 🥹 @adekunleGOLD,” he tweeted.

The Orente hit-maker’s angere was triggered after OAU invited artistes while reacting to the attack of musicians on Thursday at the Lagos State University (LASU) main auditorium during a concert organised by celebrity dancer Poco Lee.

It was gathered that the homecoming concert was going well until suspected cultists stormed the venue to wreak havoc and destabilise the event.

Viral videos showed Bella Shmurda being rushed out of the hall with his face looking swollen and sore after he was allegedly slapped. Also, rapper, Odumodublvck was captured running out of the venue with Smada and members of his team.

An undisclosed number of persons were said to have been attacked and sustained injuries during the stampede. Singer Olabinjo Ayotunde Quam better known as T Dollar was also attacked when the music concert turned violent.

It was also gathered that several artistes and dancers fled the venue immediately after their performances, while some failed to show up for fear of being attacked.
