He faulted Peseiro’s strategy of relying on defense rather than attack, stressing that Super Eagles is known for dribbles, attack and fluidity, hence why the manager’s formation did not work out well.

The 44-year-old comic act also said that if Nigeria, with an early lead in the first half of the match, had won the 2023 AFCON, he would have still been pissed.

Bovi wrote: “Blame the coach. We are a footballing nation of flare. Fluidity, through passes, dribbles, attack. Not all out defence. Even if we’d won, I would still be pissed. The style was evidently alien to the players.”

Meanwhile, in related news…

CorrectNG reported earlier that Nigerian Hip Hop star, Emeka Akumefule professionally known as Blaqbonez has reacted to Super Eagles’ failure to win the title at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The rapper who commented through Twitter, said he is not surprised that Nigeria lost the game because the team’s performance throughout AFCON had been unimpressive.

According to Blaqbonez, any true football fanatic would admit that the wins by Jose Peseiro’s side were ‘flukes’ that didn’t move him.

He wrote; “Now that we’ve lost lets say the truth, we have been shit this whole tournament, anybody that knows football knows, all those fluke ass wins never moved me.”
