A Jigawa man, Samaila Ilu, has reportedly taken his life due to the difficult situation and economic hardship in the country.
Police spokesman DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam said the 35-year-old man, who resides Dungun Tantama village, Hausa local government hanged himself to death.
He said; “On 17/08/2023 at about 1100hrs, police received a report that a 35-year-old man Samaila Ilu of Dungun Tantama village, Hausa local government, left his house on 16/08/2023 to an unknown destination.”
Shiisu added that Samaila’s body was later found hanging on a tree with a rope, presuming he had committed suicide.
The Police PRO said a team of policemen removed the corpse and conveyed him to the hospital for autopsy. He also revealed that the body has since been released to his relatives for burial.

It may be recalled that sometime last year, Mohbad called out his former boss, Naira Marley on social media and accused him of ordering his boys to assault him. Mohbad announced the termination of his contract with Marlian Music shortly after the incident.
Bella, who had a chat with journalist, Chude Jideonwo, Bella Shmurda said Mohbad attempted to commit suicide during his ordeal but was prevented by friends.
He further revealed that the ‘Ko Por Ke’ crooner went through therapy sessions and hospital for hypertension treatment before he recovered from the issues with his former record label.
He said; “There was a time, me and Mohbad were in an apartment and Mohbad was like he wanted to jump from the upstairs because of the issues he was having with his record label. We held him by the window. Mohbad had almost jumped, it was his girlfriend that entered the room and saw him sitting down at the window.”
